old vid but if u come across … before urs does this.. rite under where the jack sits.. put some plate steel to bring it to the ground closer.. 1/4 inch should do it might be 1/8 inch… it will take a lot off the jack frame itself also ..

I got one today. Like posted earlier, the newer ones have a completely different design. Bolts instead of welds. Like my shop teacher said many years ago- "a strong bolt beats a bad weld any day".  Thanks for the review, it was very informative and influenced my decision to buy this jack.

I have the same one and it broke where the legs weld to the cross piece at the bottom . I noticed in the store that hey have completely redesigned this m
odel. There is an obvious defect in the design but HF said theres no recall or anything. The new one has two cross tubes at the bottom and two uprights which go on each side of the jack.

That lift looks handy I might make one , -That`s an easy fix , Tell you them legs should have a V plate on the bottom to stop it curling the rectangle tubing .

  5. Longtrailside

Looks like metal fatigue on the bend. With it being thin metal already and heavy use, it was bound to happen. Might be better in the long run to cut that center part out and put thicker square tubing in place since you use it so heavily. Also definatley look around that thing for more fatigue points and any cracks.

So, how is your day going? Run over a fence post with lawn mower- lawn mower jack broke- thunderstorm- If I were you, I would go to bed and hope for a better tomorrow 🙂

Now that it is getting warmer & I will be doing some extra work I was on my way to get one of these. At least it went without you being under it. How often do we use tools, equipment without first doing a safety check? This video is a good reminder thank you.
    Hey stay safe, Joe Z
